Power Snacking!
Ever since transitioning from an “Eat whatever I feel like eating even if it’s ice-cream and pizza” diet to a more “Eat what is healthy and necessary” diet, I have had to make a LOT of changes (and dessert sacrifices). As with any diet or day-to-day lifestyle, it is so important to make sure you set yourself up for success and reach for snacks that are good for you, not what is quick & easy.

Here are my favorite, satisfying, and energy-filled snack choices:
  1. Laughing Cow cheese spreads with any fresh, sliced vegetables i.e. cucumbers, carrots.
  2. Caprese salad, with maybe a little pesto to add flair 😉
  3. Fresh berries-strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, cherries… with a small dollop of Cool Whip or crème fraiche.
  4. Cottage cheese with a couple packets of Splenda, and 1 tsp of cinnamon. Topped with strawberries or peaches! Tastes almost like rice pudding!
  5. Almonds, peanuts, cashews, macadamias…I also like to make my own trail mix by adding cacao nibs, and unsweetened coconut.

Another tip for my coffee lovers out there: try switching out milk for coconut milk and using Splenda, coconut sugar, or pure cane sugar. Avoid getting your daily carbs from sugar filled ingredients or grains!
